"Gonna take your pale ass to the beach. I'll teach you to surf." And while gays still weren't wildly accepted everywhere, there were more places they could go where they didn't have to worry about being seen standing too close or whatever; mostly underground crowds but it beat this shit hole town.
Eddie finds himself smiling a little at that. He isn't going to hold Billy to that promise, he's learned better than that. Too many people has walked out his life, left him behind.
"We'll change that." He smiles softly and blinks slowly, sighing and at some point his hand ends up just resting on Eddie's chest without him realising it's even happened. "Also, the metal scene is a lot better out there than it is here."
Eddie isn't surprised by that, he's sure a lot of things are better outside of little 'ol Hawkins. Maybe Eddie is just a damn dreamer that's chasing dreams that will never happen.
