Billy renders Steve's efforts moot by leaning back and dropping his head backwards onto his shoulder, pressing a kiss to the alpha's jaw.
"No one else I would have picked." Nobody else in this town had made an effort to look through all his bravado to see the hurting kid beneath. "Later. I wanna eat first."
He smiled at the kiss, tilting his head a bit before turning his face up
more and pressing their lips together. "Good. Don't know what I would have
done if you didn't want me."
He closed his eyes, leaning into Billy before nudging him again. "Come on.
Lean against the wall and I'll wash your back and legs." He brushed wet
hair away from the back of Billy's neck, kissing softly and closing his
eyes for a moment.
"Found yourself a far more traditional and boring omega." Billy chuckles until he yawns again. "You'd be bored and I'd still be pretending to be an alpha."
And probably still trapped with Neil, but he's not dwelling on that.
"Okay." He does as he's told, leaning against the wall and letting Steve do what he wants.
"Hmmm after you? No. I don't think I would have ever been able to settle
for someone boring and traditional again." He said, grabbing the soap
before he started lathering up and scrubbing at Billy's skin.
"Knew you were it for me that first heat. I mean...you know what I mean.
You'd always worn so many scent blockers before." He blushed a bit. "Then I
finally smelled you and...it was the best thing I'd ever smelled. I
couldn't think about anyone else for days and days."
"Yeah, I got that. You beat the shit out of my dad." And it had resulted in his own beating and the subsequent over protectiveness that had come from the alpha in the days afterwards.
It's also when he started going over to Steve's -or Joyce or Hoppers- just to nap after school before going home where sleep was a risk and a disrupted affair. "You didn't spend a heat with me though."
"No I didn't, but I could smell you. Even through the bedroom door. Plus,
you did let me in so I could bring you food and water." He smiled
sheepishly. "Refused to wash the blanket for about a month after. Got to
sleep surrounded with the scent of you? Yeah. I was pathetic."
He shrugged a shoulder, kissing his cheek as he rubbed his back, thumb
digging in just above his hips. "And I would beat the shit out of him a
thousand more times if I could."
"Seriously? And yet you still didn't dick me like I was begging you to." Steve had been far too much of a gentlemen about it and Billy was both grateful and frustrated by the alpha's control.
"Worth the wait, though. Haven't felt this good in a long time." His back aches where Steve's thumbs dig in and he moans. "No more talking about him."
"I wanted to prove to you it wasn't just because of your heat. Plus...I
didn't think you really wanted me either. Thought it was because of your
heat." He said, pulling him back against him as he kept massaging that
spot.
"No more. Gonna spend the rest of my life taking care of you, you know
that? Loving you." He breathed, closing his eyes.
"You never asked outside of my heat, so I didn't think you wanted me." The were both hopeless and it makes Billy laugh, turning in Steve's hold so he can slide his arms over the alpha's shoulders and pull him close.
It might not be the romantic kissing in the rain, but the shower spray while naked is good too.
"You kidding me? After that first heat...I mean you were pretty...quick to
brush it off. Pretty sure you even said I only felt anything because of
your heat." He said, shrugging. "Even though I'd had a crush on you even
when I thought you were an Alpha. Thought I was really fucked up, but..."
He shrugged before smiling at him.
"And I was affectionate enough after. I was always trying to touch you.
Cuddle with you. How many times did I curl up with you when you napped?" He
pointed out, kissing him back deeply and sighing.
"You and I both know what my old man woulda done if I'd been around stinking of you." All of it was irrelevant now. They were finally -finally- bonded and Steve was his and he was Steve's and his old man wasn't a threat to them anymore.
He just made a sound at that, shaking his head and kissing his lips again.
"You're mine now. Nothing anyone can do about it." He murmured, smiling
against his skin when his lips brushed down his jaw.
He slid his hands over Billy's sides and then his hips. "Gonna have a
family with you too. When we're ready."
Billy leans in for another kiss, hands tangled in Steve's hair and pulling him close. God he loves this alpha so damn much.
"Yeah? You're not worried I'll be like him?" It was funny; when he thought maybe he wouldn't have a heat again, all he was worried about was not being able to give his alpha a baby and yet, now he was afraid of what would happen if they had kids.
"Hey. Don't you dare. Don't you dare think like that. I know you
would never be like him." He cupped his face, staring into his eyes before
hugging him close. "You are sweet and loving. You'd be the best parent
ever." He hummed, kissing his cheek again.
"Promise me you won't think like that." He said, rubbing his sides and then
his back, up between his shoulders.
Billy's eyes fill with tears again and he nods slowly.
"Jesus, what did I do to deserve you?" He chuckles softly and kisses him again. "I wish you coulda met my mum. She'd love you."
He just wraps himself around the alpha and holds on close, letting the feelings come forth. He shouldn't be surprised by how up and down his emotions are, because post-heat hormones were real and his had had six months of build up.
"You didn't do anything...you never have to do anything." He said softly,
bumping their noses together, smiling. "Pretty sure we were made for each
other." He said, nodding and winking at him.
Then he stopped, going a bit quiet as he held him. "Have you...have you
thought about trying to find her? You don't have to be scared of him
anymore so...we could..."
Billy chuckles wetly before reaching behind him to shut the water off so they can get out. He's hungry and the water is starting to get cold.
"She left, Steve." He frowns. "She didn't want me." He doesn't mention that he's afraid she won't want him even if he does find her. He isn't sure he could survive the rejection that came again.
"Billy, baby, come on." He said, grabbing a towel after stepping out. "She
didn't leave you. She left Neil. And you know how the laws work..." As much
as he hated them, they both knew them. "You were gonna end up with Neil.
There was nothing she could do..." He shook his head, holding the towel
open and motioning for him to come over.
"Come here. Let me look for her at least." He said, kissing his cheek
before kissing him again.
"She still left." It didn't matter that she left his dad; he'd copped all of his anger and she'd left him there to deal with it. Logic meant nothing in the face of that kind of abandonment and the emotional scars it left behind.
"Fine. If you want to." He leans into the kiss. "But first, feed me."
"Well...hey." He caught his attention, gently lifting his chin and staring
into his eyes. "I will never leave you. I'm staying right here." He smiled,
wrapping his arms around him and drying him off. "In fact, gonna have to
fight to get rid of me later." He teased, winking at him and laughing.
"Now, you craving anything? Thank god the fridge was already stocked before
your heat kicked in."
He laughed at that, making sure he is good and dry before drying himself
off as well. He got dressed in pajamas and a loose shirt, rubbing his back.
"Alright, come on. How about bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches?" He asked.
He started for the stairs, smiling at him and winking. He pulled out the
skillet and everything that he would need from the fridge.
It didn't take him long to have breakfast cooked and two plates filled with
sandwiches and fried potatoes. He slid his plate onto the table next to
Billy, smiling and sitting next to him. He leaned in, kissing his cheek
quickly. "After this I'm gonna change the bedding and we can lay back down
for a bit."
Billy kisses Steve on the cheek before shoving the food into his mouth, smiling around it. "You spoil me." It's said with a mouthful of food and he doesn't care enough to pretend he's not being gross. "I can't wait to have a nap."
