It's easy to lean back into Steve's chest, dropping his head backwards onto his shoulder and pressing his nose against his the alpha's jaw.
"Six months is too long without it. Reckon we'd have felt like this if we'd spent that first heat together, when my suppressants wore off." This was the best idea.
He smiled, tilting his head a bit and closing his eyes. "God you have no
idea how bad I wanted to. I just...it felt like shit. Leaving you all alone
like that, but I couldn't take advantage of you like that. You know that,
right?" He asked then, turning his head a bit so he could look down at him.
"It wasn't that I wasn't interested. I was even before I found out. Thought
I was going crazy and that I was going to be ostrasized for having a crush
on another Alpha." He murmured, blushing a bit.
"I know, Steve. You not coming in is what made me so sure I wanted to spend a heat with you." Most alpha's would have taken advantage of an omega in heat, but not Steve. He'd even come into the room on multiple occasions and had left again, all without laying a hand on him except to encourage him to sit up and drink some water.
"The fact that you thought I was an alpha just proved I was pulling it off."
"Really?" He asked, smiling even as he hugged him closer. He nuzzled behind
his ear, nipping playfully before he started kissing down his neck and
shoulder. "Just glad you know now that I care for you. That I love you."
He had always hated it when he found out that Billy thought it was all the
hormones and everything. He had tried to tell him otherwise, but really the
other wouldn't listen.
"You could have come in that day, taken what I was offering, given me what I was begging you for regardless of my ability to make an actual choice, but you didn't. You looked after me and gave me a safe place to get through my heats." He relaxes even further into Steve's chest, sighing at each soft kiss.
"There was never any other choice. It was always going to be you." It's why he'd been so shattered when he had believed that Steve just wanted him because of hormones. "I love you. I think I have since that first heat."
"That is exactly how I felt. Like I said, even before I knew you were an
omega. I liked you. Even if you were an absolute asshole." He said
teasingly, smiling softly even as he found Billy's hands and lacing their
fingers together.
"It was never about the hormones like you thought it was. I mean, don't get
me wrong...you smelled amazing. You still smell amazing." He murmured
against his skin, nosing along slowly beneath his jaw and closing his eyes.
"I wanted you the moment you got here. The first time I saw you. Just
couldn't say anything."
