Billy takes the Chief in. He looks like hell and Billy wonders what exactly he faced and how much of a part he played in it. Was he to blame for what happened to him? He doesn't remember seeing Jim at the Mall when he'd been trying to hand Eleven over to the Mind Flayer and then fighting to stop it.
His face is burned at the side, and he's pretty scarred up. The doctor says most of it will heal but the radiation was bad. So whos knows. He just has to take his time and heal.
When the boy asked him if he did it, Jim reached to his own face to touch, softly, shaking his head no. "Russians." he said simply, but then explained. "Russians did this to all of us. Even you."
"That doesn't make any sense." He doesn't remember any Russians. He'd seen a lot over the last week but he didn't recall seeing any Russians. Monsters and death and kids with super powers but no Russians.
"They opened up a hole to let these things in." Jim said softly. He assumed that was what got Billy too. That something got out and got him. "They've been testing something deep down under the mall and it's been letting these... things out."
Again he assumed that's got to be what happened to Billy too. Something found him.
"I was... It was the old steel factory. That's where he got me." Billy relaxes back into the hospital bed and let's out a soft sigh, eyes falling closed for a moment. Even with the meds, there's still a dull ache underneath that covers his whole body.

"Did I do that?" He points at his face weakly.

"What do Russians have to do with... him?"

"What stopped it?"
