“Fuck yes. I miss the beach so fucking much. I’d love to show it to you.” It wasn’t really surprising that Gareth had never seen a beach. A lot of people in Hawkins hadn’t, with maybe the exception of the wealthy families that went on fancy holidays.
It’s awkward but Billy manages to lean into Gareth’s side, legs kinda on an odd angle thanks to the casts that stop above the knee. “That would make sense. Maybe you should make a new one. Experience it with your new heightened senses.”
"I could, maybe after you're healed up enough to come with me." Hands play in blonde curls as Billy leans more into Gareth. It makes him smile, seeing the other seeking out his touch. Billy was his and he'd do anything he could to protect him. Which sounded dumb because the guy was taller and stronger than him.
"You want me to build a terrarium with you?" There's a hint of wonder in Billy's voice, as if it baffles him that Gareth would want him to do something he loves with him. As if Gareth doesn't spend plenty of time explaining his D&D campaigns to him or talk him through how to care for each of his spiders.
"Of course I wanna share that with you." Gareth laughs, not realizing how close to the mark he is. "You're special to me, plus creating one with you could be fun. So long as you don't mind hiking around the woods too much."
Grinning as he leaned into Billy, Gareth butted his head up against Billy's gently before pulling back in time to see Steve passing through to the entry way spinning his keys. Looks like they finally settled on something. Good, he was starved. Eddie waltzed in, not even batting an eye at the two sitting close on the couch, with a grin to inform them that Steve was getting them Korean food and if they had an objection to tell him now so they could order a pizza.
Gareth just looked at Billy with an arched brow before shrugging his shoulders. He was a teenager, he'd eat whatever was put in front of him.
Billy continues to stare at the alpha with wonder for a moment before he leans forward to press a kiss against his lips. "I think I can stand a hike or two with you."
"As long as there's shit I can eat with one hand." Munson was alright, even if he was a little over the top for Billy's tolerance sometimes and got his panties in a bunch when Billy wanted to talk his boyfriend while they were playing. Some of those campaigns took way too fucking long for Billy to not talk to Gareth the whole damn time, alright? At least he had a good supply. Speaking of, "you got anything on you, Munson? The pain meds make me foggy."
"Of course it won't be until after you're healed up." Gareth smiled, returning the kiss easily with a happy sort of rumble coming from his chest.
It's of course cut off by Eddie giving him that damned knowing look.
"No way, Hargrove. I know a certain alpha who'd kick my ass if I let you mix meds and drugs." Eddie pointedly looked at Gareth who huffed, resting against Billy with the barest hint of tension in his smaller frame. "But I'm sure Stevie-boy has some soda in the fridge if you want some caffeine."
"What? Don't think I can stumble around like this?" He lifts his arm wrapped in a cast slightly away from his chest, the sling not allowing a whole lot of movement to reduce the chance it would get worse. Billy had rolled his eyes when the nurse told him he had to keep it on as much as possible for that reason because at this point, strain on his collar bone or something like that really wouldn't make much of a difference.
"I haven't taken the pain meds, Munson. They make me foggy. I want the weed for the pain." He lets out a huff and rolls his eyes. At least Munson has some sense regarding drugs and prescription pain medication.
"Oh I'm sure you could, but I don't think either of us want you to. Besides you'll more sore after if you do." Gareth shook his head, curls bouncing as he laughed. Looking over at Eddie and just gives the guy a shrug.
"Really? Think I could buy your script off you then? What'd they give you? Bet it's good shit if it makes you foggy." Eddie just dropped onto the arm of the couch, pulling out a small tin from his jacket and producing a couple joints. "Pretty sure Princess isn't gonna want you smoking it in the house but here."
"Also the casts would get all muddy and gross and then the sheets would get messy and Harrington would probably have an aneurysm if I left mud on the couch or something." More so because his mum would care than because Steve himself is super stressed about the furniture and, despite the fact that his old man had no hold over him anymore, he'd still beaten that respect into him.
"Not the whole script, I probably will need 'em at some point. But there's a refill on it. 'M sure we could make a trade; my fentanyl for weed?" Billy takes one of the offered joints and shrugs his good shoulder. "I don't think he'd make me drag my sorry ass outside either. We should open a window though."
Gareth rolled his eyes with a small laugh, keeping himself tucked close to Billy as he frowned at his best friend. It wasn't a frown that really meant much, more just the way Gareth's face always seemed to fall.
"Yeah sure, fentanyl's not too bad. Little harder to push in town but I bet Rick could find me a buyer." Eddie shrugged as he passed over the joints. "These are on the house."
"And yeah," Gareth piped up again, "We should definitely find you an open window before you try smoking one of those. Either of you."
"Between the two of you, I'm sure you can figure it out." Billy takes the two offered joints with a nod of thanks. With a soft sigh, Billy looks around the den and furrows his brow. "We should take these to the kitchen. Don't wanna get the stink of skunk in the Harringtons' furniture."
Holding the joints out to Gareth, Billy offers a small smile. "Help into the chair?"
Taking the joints Gareth puts them in his vest pocket before moving to help Billy into the wheelchair so he can move around freely. Well, mostly freely. It's a good thing the Harrington's have a guest room downstairs or else things would be so much harder for them.
"Come on, let's get you high before you start being in too much pain."
Billy helps as best he can but his core strength never really had the chance to return before Vecna tried killing him again, so really, he's absolutely no real help. He's at least gotten good at making his body easy to move without just turning into dead weight and there is one advantage to the muscle loss he's sustained; he's not too fucking heavy for his alpha to manhandle from couch to chair, chair to bed or, the worst they've experienced so far, chair to toilet. Thank fuck the Harrington's have a big shower.
Once he's in his chair, he tugs Gareth down into a kiss, listening to Munson's exaggerated gagging sounds as he leaves the room ahead of them.
