Billy had been travelling with Mando and the child for a few weeks now, mostly keeping the kid company when his dad went off to work and explaining the ways of the Force -or, at least, the few things he understood from his own experiences- to the Mandalorian when they were alone in the cockpit.
They're in some back water town, laying low and trying to rest, catch their breath and make a plan for their next move when the job comes up. Of course Mando has to take it -credits make life a lot easier- and Billy knows before they even discuss it that he needs to stay behind. They both say it's because someone needs to watch the baby, but they also both know that he needs to keep his head down after revealing himself in order to protect them when they'd first met.
Billy's sitting cross-legged on the floor, meditating, when he hears Mando come back into the hut they're calling home for the time being and he doesn't look up until he hears the obviously pained grunt.

"Mando? You alright?"
