Character History: Billy Hargrove
Character Canon Point: Four years after the events of Stranger Things 3, Billy is still living in Hawkins, in his own place that was provided to him by Dr Owens because he refuses to leave while Max is still living in that home with his old man and there’s the possibility that the Gate could open once more.
After the incident on July 4th with the Mind Flayer and the subsequent month of therapy -both physical and emotional- Billy adopted a German Shepherd named Newt as a therapy animal. Billy’s had him for two years and he has helped with the panic attacks and nightmares that Billy still has. The two have been inseparable since the day Billy brought Newt home.
Billy also has good control over the powers he gained that night at Starcourt.
Personality: Billy grew up angry and nasty, full of hatred at both himself and the world. His dad beat into him the need to always be strong and in control, to never let himself truly feel his emotions. Throughout his late teens, Billy was rather tyrannical towards anyone he didn’t like or he didn’t have a use to him.
After the events of Starcourt Mall on July 4th and the various therapies Billy went through, he found himself learning ways to control his anger and expressing it in a healthier way. This allowed him to be calmer and opened him up to feeling the rest of his feelings more truly and work through them.
Overall, post-Starcourt Billy is more open and friendly; he still has a wicked temper but it’s not as all consuming as it used to be and he’s able to socialise in a far healthier way; allowing people in properly and forming proper friendships. He’s far more tolerable and likeable than he was before and actually shows an interest in getting to know people.
Abilities: Billy possesses multiple abilities including; telekinesis, ESP, telepathy, psychometry, technopathy, bio-kinesis and memory reading, supernatural sensitivity, enhanced strength and durability and is able to read and control demo-creatures through the hive mind. He’s also perfectly capable in a fight though his methods rely solely on brute strength and no actual finesse.
